I miss Canada

I've been back for less than 24 hours and I'm missing Canada already! She has definitely treated me well in the past 4 weeks!

So I uploaded pictures onto my computer and I have over 1,600 images. Hmm.. I guess it's alright for a month-long trip? Not to mention the photos on film (that are yet to be developed) and my father/mother/sister's cameras...

Sneak peak: a few of my favourites

#1 and #2: Being silly in downtown Toronto
#3: At the top of Sulphur Mountain, Banff

Bamboo tablet!

So I got the Wacom Bamboo Capture Tablet and have been experimenting with it since I got home! Took me about 15 minutes to get a hang of it but boy it's fun! I'm loving it already!

I can see my soon-to-come travel pictures will be going up a notch! Can't wait till I get home and start going over all the memorable moments of this trip! :)

Europe cup final 2012

Shot this right before the first goal!

This is how I spent my first Canada day in Canada since I don't remember how long ago. How about yours?

Half way!

I just landed in Vancouver last night and about to enjoy the second half of my holiday! I have been posting bits and bobs of my trip on Instagram, be sure to get tuned on over there! I did a headcount for my cameras and realized that I have 5 (including the iPhone) with me for this trip!
- Diana Mini (this was a gift from a dear friend in Toronto!)
- iPhone
Not to mention each family member of mine has a camera of their own....

So I will be doing a lot of developing once I head home. And the process of consolidating everyone's materials and picking out pictures to share would be so horrifying! But I can't wait till I see all the pictures on my computer (instead of the work laptop that I'm currently punching into...)!

Look what this little guy was doing while I tried to type stuff up! How adorable :)

For now, I will need to catch up on some blog reading, travel journal writing, book reading and most importantly, chilling with everyone in town!!

Toronto at dawn

The perks of being jet lagged is the ability to watch sunrise at 5am :)

May 22 - Jun 3 2011

It's been a year since our viva Italia trip! WHERE DID ALL THE TIME GO?? Anyhoo, one picture of us per place in honour of this anniversary :)

Made our way from Hong Kong to London....

Had our very first gelato in Florence...

Made a quick pit stop at Pisa...

Followed by the Vatican City...

And then there was Rome...

Stopped by Napoli just for pizza...

Then headed south to Sorrento...

A sharp u-turn up north to Burano...

And took the gondola back to Venice...

Our miserable attempt at Lake Como...

But Milan was pleasant nonetheless...

Last but not least, went back to London for our return flight home.

So glad I took all the extra effort to write my travel journal! So much juicy details inside!!!

And yes Miss W, we shall conquer another country together soon!

Reminisce - part one

My Burano candle holder has finally made its debut after a three-month delay. Call me a grandma because even though the glass allows the flames to burn beautifully, the back of my head holds the tiny bit of fear that somehow the candle would tilt or something and my room would light up in fire.

Or maybe I can blame the Asian parent effect. My dad reminds me to turn off my iMac every night because not long ago some teenager's desktop overheated during the night and yes, the room burned down. It was all over the news. Apparently we cannot let history repeat itself...

Looking at my candle holder reminds me of the trip to Italy, which was yes, three months ago. Actually, now that I think about it, I've never written anything about my trip. Perhaps now would be a good time :)

As a matter of fact, it all started off in London. Honestly, I did not know this city was so windy. And I thought Chicago was the Windy City...

At Nottinghill after brunch, looking all G with the hoodie as I underestimated the weather there...
The Egyptian masks at the British Museum that match our skin tone so freaking well!

Sunday roast at First Room/afternoon tea at Winter Garden/crashing a hotpot dinner at a friend-of-friend's/picnic at Hyde Park/Love Never Dies/Big Ben/London Eye/British Museum/best roast beef sandwich (still a little iffy about the ox tongue as its taste buds were clearly visible...)/homemade 3-course steak dinner at 11pm/LOTS OF GOOD CONVERSATION AND LAUGHTER

Wouldn't be the same without our great host(s).

And then it was Florence

The beautiful view of Firenze from Piazzale Michelangelo

The start of trekking all over the country/squeezing ourselves and our luggages in the tiniest hotel elevator ever seen/getting lost in the somewhat intertwining streets/Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore/Basilica de Sante Croce/Piazzale Michelangelo/Ponte Vecchio/pulled some hair out as we didn't figure out how to open the supermarket salad bowl properly until we munched the last leaf away

I like how we accidentally messed up the settings of the camera which resulted in this grainy effect

By the way, it took us a lot of effort to climb up to Piazzale Michelangelo... I mean, we're two girls whom you can't exactly scream athletic at. And climbing stairs midday in soaring heat was definitely good for the butt.
