Homme

Like they always say, age doesn't matter when it comes to men. As long as you got style, an eye candy you are ;)

Flowy-ness

I believe that capturing the movements of a beautiful dress or skirt is one of the most beautiful things a photographer can achieve. But when it's done right, it's rather magical.

Coffee table book wish list

I know you can probably find all the information you need through the world wide web without paying a dime, but you know, there is something different, not to mention special, about casually flipping through pages and have certain things catching your eye. And whatever it is that pops up to you evolves over time too. How exciting!

Anyhoo, the following are on the top of my coffee table book wish list. I know my birthday is still some time away, but I am more than happy to receive any donations towards the ce fund.

Number 1: I Spy DIY Style by Jenni Radosevich
The title itself says it all. I am a huge fan of Jenni's blog, so obviously her book is on my wish list!

Number 2: Design Sponge at Home by Grace Bonney
Similarly, I have been following Design Sponge for quite some time. A book full of home decor inspiration that is actually do-able! Major!

Number 3: Paris in Colour by Nichole Robertson
I must admit, this book was more of an impulse item. I was wandering through the bookstore and my eyes settled on the cover among the sea of other books. I flipped through some pages and the pretty pastels left a huge impression. Imagine going through the book on a rainy day, with a cup of green tea in hand. Maybe it's also due to the fact that I met some interesting French guys last night. *swooon*

PS Happy mother's day! We went to a farm to pick out some organic vegetables! And I got her a pair of legit sunglasses (no more clip-ons zomg)! How did you spend your day with the mama?

Silent World by Lucie & Simon

"The silence of the world, like a quotation, is suddenly endowed with an oppressive eloquence. small intrusions are the true sparks here, because their disconcerting presence disrupts the majestic calm of the streets and squares. Are the latter guitly or victims? The fate that governs these shots in a tangible way is not the result of decisions taken by metaphysical powers, but stems uniquely from the imagination of the two creators of these photos, Lucid & Simon.

Although they consciously and intelligently stage the principle of the "deja-vu", the nevertheless brilliantly include observers in their game and transform them into co-creators of their images. They undermine the idea that the photographic image is a duplicate of the visible world or a "language without code" (Roland Barhtes), an image that is at least <> at the moment of its creation. They endow their photographs with an abundance of unsettling codes, of the most diverse persuasions and origins, particularly those arising from other images. However, these codes don't focus the images. They serve instead to incite observers to fill them with language of their own experience and their own imagination."

A world without people might very well be a language without code.
