In search of...

For some unknown reason, I am drawn to vintage typewriters. I've seen it so many times on blogs and there's this mysterious/whimsical factor that tinkles my nerves everytime I see one. Maybe because I am a book fan (hard copies all the way) and I do think that old fashioned typewriters produce one of the most beautiful fonts.

This past Sunday girl friend T and I were rumbling through an older neighbourhood searching for a peaceful little coffee shop to spend our afternoon. I insisted that we take a walk down the antique street and I've found, for the first time, an rusty typewriter! I did not go up to the owner only because the machine was so beaten up I was convinced that certain keys would fall off anytime. And it was in a gloomy shade of gray.

A dream typewrite would be something like the image below. The mint green is so calming. I wonder if they ever came out with a peachy version of it.

Not purchasing any until I find the right one!

A beautiful mess

Stumbled across this beautiful site, A Beautiful Mess, which showcases a lot of interesting DIYs and other pretty things! Perhaps it's because I'm on a roll for making my own stuff these days. There are so many projects that I want to take on right now!

Elsie Larson (along with her team), the forces behind the blog, compiles receipes, simple DIYs, as well as hints and tips on how to make your everyday life a little better.

Song lyric wall art (I already know what lyrics I'm going to use!)

Faux polariod photo ornaments (Gasping for the little ribbons!)

I especially love the layout of her blog. Makes you all warm and giddy. I think I just fell in love. Thanks Elsie!

Chinese New Year photo diary

CNY is almost over (not for the traditional believers as I think the festivity lasts for the half of the lunar January) and I'm grateful for getting to spend it with close family and friends. Not to mention all the insane food!

From Day 1 dim sum to Day 3 feast and the various radish/taro cakes in between, relatively subtle flowers to decked out cherry blossoms, new born babies to ever-growing kids, and my closest by my side.

This holiday has been  great :)

Weekend brunch

Slightly on the heavy side if you consider this a brunch but nice food plus the most perfect weather in HK brings your appreciation towards details to a whole new level.

Pre-CNY clean-up

They say you gotta clean up your place a little bit before Chinese New Year comes around. So here I am, moving things from one place to another in hopes of accomplishing this tradition. So far I've moved my mannequin next to my bookshelf as shown here in the pic, and just by thinking of opening my wardrobe sends me shivers already.

Must work hard!

January 5

A little too late, but happy birthday to someone who was once very special.

I really wish you were still around.

Start fresh

Got to spend NYE on foreign land and the best part? With one of my besties :)

Another year has arrived and poop, seems like I have failed to fulfill my resolution for 2011. The past year has definitely been a rocky one. How I wish I could wipe away certain things that happened like erasing my name off a chalk board.

So here I am, on the fourth day of this new year, looking forward and expecting a better turnout.

Things I'd like to see happening in 2012:
1) be more patience (was my sole resolution last year that I have failed)
2) be behind the camera more
3) continue with my mini DIY projects and pick up sewing
4) write a little more I guess

Hope everyone is having a great start!
