Change

So it's been two months since I last blogged properly. In between the days I've landed myself a new job and become another year wiser (at least that's what I hope I have become). Plenty of things to look forward to in the future. Very nervous but somewhat excited about it.

They say change is good. I am one who has always been rather reluctant to change. At least not constant changes. On the other hand, I've been comfortable for a few years, so yes, I am in need of a change.

I am anxious to see where all of this would lead me to. Fingers crossed!

PLAN AHEAD

It's that time of the year where the excitement of starting a brand new schedule rises. You start by filling in all your loved ones' birthdays and wrap your head around the planning for the upcoming months. I'm very grateful for 18-month schedules :)

Am I the only one still manually writing down all my appointments??

TRILOGIES

I am still unsure why trilogies have all of a sudden made it to the window display of every bookstore. I meant to post these while I was reading but I got carried away heh.

Anyhow, a summary of my "currently reading" collection.... the 6 books that I finished within 3 weeks' time. In that order too. I have definitely set a personal record reading time there.

There's a slight emptiness in me now that I've finished reading them all. No more squinting my eyes while eagerly picking up every single word from the PDFs via my iPhone. Maybe it's time I find another set of books and dive right in.

Moving back...

The first thing I found out once I sat down at the office this morning was that an old friend has decided to move back to Hong Kong. We can finally improve our past meetup frequency, which was annually.

Very exciting news indeed. I cannot wait! Definitely categorizing this under festivities!

I miss Canada

I've been back for less than 24 hours and I'm missing Canada already! She has definitely treated me well in the past 4 weeks!

So I uploaded pictures onto my computer and I have over 1,600 images. Hmm.. I guess it's alright for a month-long trip? Not to mention the photos on film (that are yet to be developed) and my father/mother/sister's cameras...

Bamboo tablet!

So I got the Wacom Bamboo Capture Tablet and have been experimenting with it since I got home! Took me about 15 minutes to get a hang of it but boy it's fun! I'm loving it already! 

I can see my soon-to-come travel pictures will be going up a notch! Can't wait till I get home and start going over all the memorable moments of this trip! :)

This is how I spent my first Canada day in Canada since I don't remember how long ago. How about yours?

Half way!

I just landed in Vancouver last night and about to enjoy the second half of my holiday! I have been posting bits and bobs of my trip on Instagram, be sure to get tuned on over there! I did a headcount for my cameras and realized that I have 5 (including the iPhone) with me for this trip!

So I will be doing a lot of developing once I head home. And the process of consolidating everyone's materials and picking out pictures to share would be so horrifying! But I can't wait till I see all the pictures on my computer (instead of the work laptop that I'm currently punching into...)!

For now, I will need to catch up on some blog reading, travel journal writing, book reading and most importantly, chilling with everyone in town!!

Pre-Thursdays!

Perspective dictates your mood, and it all depends on how you look at things. So, for the average white collars out there who dread their workdays, here's a little theory to hopefully get you through the week faster and merrier!

The new workday theory - How renaming things make a difference

Mondays: Crappy Mondays. Monday blues. Oh-my-gosh-it's-Monday-again. You name it. Very mehhh. You are in your post-weekend state. Productivity: close to zero (unless you're one of those who absolutely love your job and can't wait to go in every single day).

Tuesdays: Oh-what-it's-only-Tuesday? Mehh. It's the second day of the week and the weekend seems lightyears away still...

Wednesdays (traditional): HUMP DAY. Completely stuck in the middle, screaming and kicking inside while trying to catch that little glimpse of the weekend.

Wednesdays (CE): PRE-THURSDAYS!!!! This is where you go: Oh dear it's already pre-Thursday! I'm totally getting a drink after work! (I'm assuming that you ARE getting that drink afterwards!)

Thursdays: Happy hour Thursdays! Yes, this is the night where you grab your nearest (be it physically or emotionally) friends/coworkers and just hang out at a bar, enjoying the cheap happy hour drinks that they offer. Maybe you even get to expand your social circle a little!

Fridays: Full on party Fridays! It's the weekend! Go crazy!!

Saturdays/Sundays: Need I say more?

Seriously, I'm totally enjoying my new Pre-Thursdays. It has been week 2 since I adopted this theory and boy does it make me happy! Does anyone also feel the joy that I get when yucky Tuesdays turn into merry pre-Thursdays when I open my eyes in the morning? Not to mention the uncontrollable grin that quietly creeped up my face!

Hallelujah! A good mood will definitely help boosting up your efficiency and effectiveness too! Win-win! 

Maybe it's really because my holiday starts this Friday. I cannot wait to fly to North America!

Whimsy

I randomly stumbled upon Bianca Green's work and boy oh boy I am in love! The way she magically combines her prints with day-to-day objects has left me feeling rather whimsical, not to mention a bit like Alice in Wonderland! And did I mention I am a sucker for doodles?

Am currently debating whether I should get her iPhone skins (here and here).  The detailing and colours of the prints are leaving me gasping for air!
